Tony Awards June 13, 2011 12:39 am Eri

I watched the Tony Awards tonight. Well, I did fall asleep in the middle and missed part of it. But what I did see was great entertainment and they have a lot of movie stars who also are on Broadway. Those who can act, gravitate to Broadway at some point. De Niro was there, was a nominee for Best Actor (didn’t win). I recognized a lot of them; almost all the good Broadway actors have also been in movies. They use movies to support themselves and Broadway for the love of acting.

Whoever wrote the Tony Awards should also write the Academy Awards. It might make the Academies actually entertaining. The Tony’s was a slick production (what I saw) and Neil Patrick Harris did a helluva job as host. He did a rap at the end over the credits and it was really good and really funny. And just written because it included the winners.

Broadway rocks, Hollywood sucks.

Oh, and their dresses and suits were more interesting. They go for sophistication rather than gaudy.
