“A 9-year-old Pennsylvania girl was shot in the shoulder with a shotgun at a Halloween party Saturday evening by a relative who mistook her for a skunk, a Beaver County dispatcher confirmed to NBC News.”
Now the girl survived, which is good. And a mitigating circumstance is that she was wearing a Halloween costume with some black and a white tassel.
However, that must be one poor little girl or they grow some good stuff in Pennsylvania. How does one mistake a little girl for a skunk? How would one explain that to the police.
“Well, officer, I thought she was a skunk. We have a real problem with skunks around here and some of them get really big. Have white pony-tails, even. Rare up on two legs. And, seriously, she smells bad. I would have bet three of those pickups in back she was the mother of all skunks, and I thought I’d even get a re-ward. Boy, howdy, I’m gonna have to cut back on some of this shit!”
Poor girl, scarred for life. ”Gee, Harriet, what’s that scar on your shoulder?” ”My cousin Haven thought I was a skunk and shot me. Said I was a good-lookin’ skunk, though, for a skunk.”
Sad story.
