As if they didn’t have enough US drones to attack over Iran. This “international waters” stuff has been trotted out ever since the Korean War and has never been true. I knew many, many “airdales” who would fly RB-47s into China and then try to scamper out. Those that got caught and shot down were always innocently flying over “international waters”. A good friend of mine was taught Chinese, and rode along listening to Chinese scramble their fighters in order to know when to turn around. He preferred to listen from an airplane cruising around in international waters, but if the RB-47 was going in deep enough he had to ride with them. Didn’t crap for days after.
How the DoD can expect the American people to believe it is completely beyond me. First, they fly over Iran, and second the DoD simply does not ever tell the truth about anything. Or rarely, if it makes ‘em look good.
“Two Iranian jets fired on a U.S. military drone, Pentagon officials said Thursday — the first time such an action has been acknowledged by the United States.
“At 4:50 a.m. EDT on Nov. 1, an Iranian SU-25 Frog Foot jet fired on a U.S. MQ-1 Predator drone that was conducting routine surveillance in international waters over the Arabian Gulf, Pentagon spokesman George Little said. The unarmed Predator was approximately 16 nautical miles off the Iranian coast when the Iranian jet began firing and was never in Iranian airspace, he said.”
