Oh great, that’s just what I wanted to read after capitulating to my kids questions of; What’s your New Years resolution dad?
Well, not wanting to discourage my kids from setting goals as I have always encouraged it and not having a unique and clever response I answered with the boring, common and cheesy; Loose a few unwanted pounds. Geez, how many times have I used that line.
So then I read the article and being a little overweight might not be so bad after all. Don’t tell the kids in elementary school who are having their bag lunches from home confiscated for lack of nourishment as determined by the schools food police, only to have the lackluster provided tray lunches lay uneaten. A Ding Dong or Twinkie for a snack to stimulate those little brain cells might be better for the children’s moral without do so much damage to their health as has been decried.
A little common sense goes a long way and most all can agree that being obese is not good for you. Eating sensibly and not gorging yourself to the state of immobility works well for the body which has been good advice for many years. These health studies we constantly hear and read about drive me nuts and seem to contradict each other. Which one are we to believe? Are they all for one and one for all?
Anyway, I don’t feel so guilty about devouring that grilled crab and tomato sandwich loaded with mayo along with a side of fries yesterday. But don’t tell my kids.
And can we bring back trans fat? Lays potato chips just don’t taste the same.
Happy New Year!

I hate living within someone else's idea of what is acceptable.
- Yeah boy live longer....become a burden to others. Go back to no teeth and diapers.
