Why is Olivine so ubiquitous in the cosmos? August 11, 2011 5:55 pm Jeff-Wash

It seems to be everywhere up there!

The mineral olivine is found on the Moon, on asteroids,

on Mars; in comet nuclei, in dust clouds in space.

Why? Why is it so prevelant?

Is it easier to make, than other minerals?

Do rocks and minerals like flint, quartz, etc have a

disadvantage over olivine?

Is its chemical composition and structure  at some happy

energy & structural equalibrium?
