All washed up in politics, budget cuts, short-sightedness, etc. So we could lose a lot of the value of having the ISS.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who figured this would eventually happen. Maybe they’ll find the reason in time, maybe they won’t. But it is friggin’ criminal to put all our eggs in one basket. We should have been working on developing alternative ways to get there and back if we weren’t going to keep the shuttles we have (rather, had) running.

I guess it’s too late to take one out of mothballs?

One presumes they’ll eventually get back up there to the ISS but we’ll STILL have no backup.
