Anyone ever tried this? July 30, 2013 6:38 pm bowser

I just bought a (police) scanner for the van.  It says it will scan about everything, park rangers, airplanes, police, etc., and has a GPS connecting feature and a close contact feature.  It knows where you are and automatically switches to frequencies close and also gets signals which are close to you.

I got it for traffic jams.  The CB set is interesting, but one doesn’t know which way the trucker you hear is going or how far away he/she is from whatever is causing the problem.  I’m hoping listening to the nearby traffic cops, fire trucks and ambulances might be more informative.

I’ve never heard of anyone doing this, seems worth a try.
