Curious. August 18, 2013 6:26 pm bowser

When we say someone is an “atheist”, do we mean they don’t believe in a God of the Bible?  Christians believe that the only way to Heaven is through a belief in Jesus Christ.  Roman Catholics believe only Roman Catholics can go to Heaven.  Nothing else counts.

Would belief in the God of the Koran mean someone is an “atheist”?  What about Buddhists, who don’t particularly believe in “God”?  What are they?

I know Pat Robertson would consider anyone who didn’t believe in his idea of God an atheist.  I know Muslims believe anyone who doesn’t believe in their idea of God is an “infidel”, or unfaithful.

I’m just sort of curious as to what we think an atheist is.
