12 shot dead in Navy Yard - Obama did nothing - this is not the time to discuss gun control. September 16, 2013 1:49 pm bowser

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/09/16/20522196-at-least-12-killed-in-shooting-rampage-at-washington-navy-yard-chief-says?lite

During this tragedy in which at least 12 people were shot to death President Obama blissfully went about his day as if nothing were happening.  He did not intervene, he did not put the military on the alert, he didn’t fire off a few cruise missiles, he simply did nothing.

Now of course as emotions run high and reason is taking a back seat, this is not the time to discuss gun control.  The lynch mob mentality will take control as the Second Amendment will take it’s usual and undeserved beating.  We all agree this needs to be dealt with rationally, not when emotions are running wild.

People may have killed these people, but those charged with protecting Americans from those who would harm them ignored their oaths of office and this tragedy happened.   If those 12 people who were killed were also carrying an assault rifle, shotgun and handgun, this could not have happened.  Will that be seriously considered?  No.  Because the powers who should protect us do not care.

This is a triple tragedy.  Not only did innocent people die, but those who could have  prevented it, the NRA, was ignored and those who should protect Americans were derelict in their duty.
