Jupiter’s near opposition, and the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades are well placed for observation. I brought out the 4″ last night and gave my neighbors a bit of a thrill.
Jupiter at 200x was a fine sight, all four Galilean satellites were visible clearly, as were cloud bands on the Jovian disk.
But the real show was the Seven Sisters and the Sword of Orion through a 2″ OD 32mm Erfle wide-angle eyepiece (19x). It’s like looking through a starship porthole.
Squeals of delight.
