Dealing with image issues October 13, 2011 9:43 am TB

A lot of times when you link to a picture on an outside site, it gives you a hard time. You get the “red X” or nothing at all.

One workaround is to put the image on the Zone’s own Library, and link at your leisure. Download the image from whatever site into your own computer. Make changes if you want.

Then upload it to the Zone’s Library, which shows up under “Media” at the left of the Dashboard/Edit screen. Use “Add New.”

There seem to be two options for uploading, a “Flash” option and a “Browser” option. I’ve had trouble with the “Flash” one, but use whatever works.

Once the image is in the library, click “edit” on it, and scroll down. You’ll see a URL link for that picture at the Zone address. Copy and paste it when you are using the “img” button on your new post, and it should work.

Note: when you are adding a new reply comment on the main (black background) page, you don’t have access to all those nice buttons. Don’t be afraid to put a “placeholder” comment in there, then edit it into your final format. The edit screen has all the great editing controls the other interface doesn’t.
