Giant rocky planet is 17 times larger than Earth.

10-15 years ago I read books by respected cosmologists who were certain planets like this are impossible. Anything more than 2-3 times Earth mass would have to be a gas giant.

This one is probably too hot for life as we know it, but imagine a planet this size in the Goldilocks zone with water and atmosphere. I can’t even imagine what hyper-gravity would do to the composition of water and atmosphere. Surely it would give every appearance of being just another gas giant. In fact, I guess it would be a just another gas giant with a rocky core.

Many wonders are in store for us if we make it out there.
