Ahead of me in the grocery line is a young couple with a couple of kids. They are all obese, even the kids. Mom has purple hair, Dad a modified Mohican. Both are covered with tattoos. The woman pays with the current form of food stamps, a particular credit card. She retrieves $60 in cash.
Those people just plain piss me off. Companies with injured workers have limited duty programs, where they have to show up and do something. These people should be doing the same thing. I don’t care what they do, as long as it’s something. Picking up litter, polishing rocks, washing clothes, painting their subsidized housing, cleaning up vacant lots, mowing lawns for the elderly.
Second generation welfare recipients should receive benefits for a shorter length of time than the first, yes, the sins of the fathers, and the third generation and even shorter term. Able-bodied men would need to be available for work and have to show up every morning at something like a hiring hall. Or nothing, and assistance would be available on a daily basis, not monthly.
Grrrr!
