A guy brought a small quadcopter to the neighborhood picnic this year. It was battery-powered, had a camera mounted on it, broadcasted to his laptop. It was legal to 300 vertical feet, would go much higher. I watched it fly for about half and hour, but for most of it the camera was off. If he lost it with his controller it would return on it’s own to where it took off last. Got within a few feet.
He had enough control over it he could have flown it around inside a house with no problems. He could take HQ, not the very best but very good, video and even had a limited telescopic lens.
I’m glad I’m not a kid any more. There was a lot I didn’t want seen then. Now – well, what the hell.
