Alberta conservative epoch ends May 6, 2015 3:15 pm mcfly

With a whimper, forty-four years of conservative rule came to an abrupt end in Alberta yesterday. The New Democrats under Rachel Notley won a decisive majority, and the incumbent conservatives have been all but dealt out.

I haven’t been back to Alberta for 15 years, but apparently the corruption and arrogance of the conservative regime had become absolutely breathtaking.

Oilmen–the Alberta industrial elite–are already issuing warnings to the incoming government and promises of pain and loss to an electorate that they now dislike very much.
