Binary logic November 2, 2011 7:48 pm johannes

What can you do with binary logic that has 3 inputs and 16 outputs?
I know that the logic in the computer mouse must be able to differentiate the direction of motion, so it must be able to distinguish the sequence of inputs, and therefore would be able to give 5 outputs from 2 different inputs.
But what about 3 inputs and 16 outputs, I can imagine that such logic could be used in robotic devices for the recognition of the direction of movement and shapes of objects.
Perhaps in a simple situation it could be used to transmit more data through a narrower bandwidth.
What do you think?
