garage door remotes in open rebellion October 17, 2015 6:53 pm SDG

Weirdest thing started today. Ran to the store this morning and came back and the garage door was open. It was weird, but I figured, Imust have forgotten to push the button or a kid went out that way and didn’t close it. Ran an errand an hour later and couldn’t get the damn door to close with my remote. Was in a hurry so called my wife to ask her to close it. When I came home I couldn’t open it, so I pulled the battery and put a new one in. Still no dice. Now I started getting mad. walked into the garage pushing the button till I was 2 feet from the opener and sure enough it opens right up. Later left in my wife’s car, same damn thing but a different remote. Wouldn’t close until was right up on it, then had to hop the beam and leave. When I came back it still didn’t have the decency to open for me. No problem tried the keypad. No dice. Then I remembered the keypad isn’t wired in, its rf as well. Then I realize I’m locked out as I don’t have housekeys on me.

Luckily my Father-in-law (he lives with us) was home and opened the door. I told him my frustrations and he told me same thing was happening on his garage door.

Google search is bringing up LED interference. Only thing is I haven’t placed any new LED bulbs. Garage has incandescent. Something is different from yesterday, but I can’t figure it out. Gonna reset the codesand frequency if I can. But 3 remotes on 1 opener and 1 remote on the other opener all with the same behavior in a single day. It’s damned odd.

Any ideas?
