Funnier-n-hell! Three, one, two, three US Army Humvees come out the back of C-130s, become disengaged from their parachutes and crash into the ground. Clearly the connections failed and in three separate instances three Humvees take the fast way down.
But not to worry. The US Army is investigating. I wonder what? What happens when the Humvee isn’t connected to it’s parachute? Is that what they are curious about? What happens when the fastener fails? What happens when the fabric fails? On three different rigs? On the same drop? Is that what they’re wondering, Bunkie?
Well, I can help them out. One airplane. 3 different, totally different, Humvees, 3 different rigs. broke loose. And I’ll “investigate” for next to nothing. I’d investigate the hell out of it, long, hard, thorough, I’d be an investigating fool. For an entire day. Wandering around looking at ‘chutes, rigging, and Humvees. Saying “Hmmmm” a lot, taking pictures. Yep, it would take a day. I wonder how long it will take the US Army?
(Hint: First, check who went AWOL after the plane landed.)
A Humvee? $220,000. A plane ride? $40,000. A quick trip to the pasture? Priceless! The investigation? $3,000,000. The conclusion? A new set of orders starting:
Fasten; the ‘chutes to the Humvee before exiting the airplane.
Well, they were fastened or they wouldn’t have dragged the Humvee out of the aircraft, Mr. Smartypants!
Fasten the Humvee firmly to the rigging before opening the back of the plane.
$3,000,000 please. Small bills.
