I got a phone call from the NRA today. They told me I would hear a short recorded message from Wayne LaPierre, then I would be asked some questions for a survey.
After hearing Chairman LaPierre’s very partisan harangue, the voice on the line asked me the first question: (And I paraphrase) whether or not I felt my 2nd amendment rights were threatened. I responded that I felt not, that I owned firearms and I agreed with the decision of the Scalia court that I was entitled to own them, but that the State also had the right to regulate their sale, distribution, use, type, ownership, configuration, munitions and sales. Then he hung up.
I guess that’s how the NRA canvasses the gun-owning public to find out what they really think.
