I caught a few snippets driving between labs today, callers and the hosts were shocked- SHOCKED! The great deal maker was making noises that sounded like he was backing down on the wall… and the poor babies were feeling so betrayed by their Orange God…

tRUmp let himself get backed into a corner by Chuck and Nancy – they got him to take ownership of the potential shutdown… Now, I don’t think this was a ‘skillful maneuver’ on the part of Chuck and Nancy, Trump is so easy to read, all his buttons are clearly labeled – a mildly clever 12 year old could back him into a corner…

But after his strongman act at that meeting he is going to look like a joke to the fools that worship such displays of ‘manhood’… he surely knows this, and so will likely violently walk back the walk back… probably tomorrow.

If he shuts down the government he -and the republicans- will own it- It will be popular only with his most ardent supporters- If he backs down, his base will be outraged- and all he has is his base…

He can please his base and outrage the majority to be even more opposed to him and republicans, or he can back down and lose his base support and watch the steady drip of scandal deepen the ranks of Americans opposed to him and his corrupt party…

Knowing him he will try to cling to his shrinking base and go for a shutdown… if someone doesn’t somehow stop him…

Yet again, he falls into a trap of his own making- The Wiley E Coyote of politics…
