Over 20 years ago, it was accepted here, on this forum, that the Universe was 28 billion LY across, 14 Billion in any direction. My thoughts were, we are looking at light from 14 billion years ago which originated at a distance of 14 billion LY. The universe has been expanding at a high rate ever since- for 14 billion years.
I believe it was D. Spears and Phil who insisted that there is “no added time”.
The current accepted size of the the Universe: 93 BLY across. I assume the “extra” size comes from the fact that all points are expanding away from each other or else the expansion would be FTL.
I’m not a physicist. But it appears I could be somewhat right. Go ahead, roast me
- Maybe its a moot point.

Space itself is expanding....

There are things in the planning stages now that- in some ways- will allow us to do things far beyond JWST at a lower cost
- Does it have anything to do with global arrays? n/t

I am pretty sure all work will largely stop at NASA during the JWST launch
-
Pic I took of JWST before it was moved for launch prep
- How did you get in? Do they give tours? n/t

It was set to launch but if I remember right, there's a problem with the Arian5.
