No he’s not.
Replacement theory is now being propagated from the the most popular anchor on the most-watched cable news network. These Right-wing extremists are not outliers at all, they represent a vile corruption that has infected the national scene and corrupted it all the way down to the core, and all the way up to the top. This is no fringe, its between a quarter and a third of our fellow countrymen. Remember the Birthers, remember the AGW debate, remember the anti-vaxxers, remember the stop-the-steal crowd, the accusations of “crisis actors”, the tiki torches? THEY ALL COME FROM THE SAME PLACE.
RL is dead right, and justified in his outrage. And I support him.
You don’t play fair with NAZIs, you expose them for the vile filth they are, and you call out those who make excuses and cover for them as well. After all, they are worse than fascists.
The fascists, at least, own up to what they are, and tell you to your face what they think. Those who piously facilitate their work because of their own agenda even when they themselves may not fully accept the whole racist NAZI program, those who sanctimoniously call on “fair play”, and “dialogue”, and “debate”, and “free speech” just to obscure the pus-filled ideology behind it, they are much, much worse.
Yeah, I also cringe when I hear the anger and hate in RL’s rants. It upsets my civilized ways, my sense of fair play, my genteel LIBERAL sensibilities. But he’s right. There isn’t the slightest doubt in my mind that he’s right. And sometimes I need to work up the courage to publicly admit he’s right, in front of witnesses. I feel like I owe it to someone.
