I just watched Hillary’s opening campaign speech on TV, the one she gave to a Democratic rally on Roosevelt Island. I agreed with pretty much everything she said.

Sure, politicians lie a lot. You have no way of knowing whether or not they really plan to make good on their campaign promises.

Even if they’re telling the truth, and do their best to deliver, you have no way of knowing whether they’ll be able to make those things happen. Unanticipated events may intervene, and even if they don’t, it may still require skills they simply don’t possess or luck they haven’t got, no matter how hard they try or how conscientious they are.

And then you realize that half the country doesn’t want what she’s offering, and will do everything they can to stop it from happening.
