The concept of other economic systems has always intrigued me.

The military is more or less a form of technocracy.  It’s run by those who are supposed to know more, and the materiel is distributed according to need.  I think of the Starship Enterprise and while I don’t know how they did things, I doubt that Kirk and crew bought their lunches.

I discussed with TB one time the economics of the military in active combat.  He thought that a system were individuals purchased their own munitions, clothing and so on was practical and desirable.  I didn’t.

Native Americans had kind of a blended system, though it seems that necessities were distributed evenly.  I think horses and teepees were privately owned.

The astronauts  on the Apollo moon missions  did not purchase their meals from NASA or from the mission commander.

I have trouble imagining an alien society which has 1% of the beings owning 99% of the resources.  I can imagine a dictatorship where no one owns anything, rather like Dark Ages kings.
