I just watched the DEM convention. July 29, 2016 7:25 am ER

It was like night and day, wasn’t it?

One of the news commentators on PBS noticed it, too. He mentioned that if you could bring in an unbiased observer, someone totally unfamiliar with American politics or the issues, the proverbial “visitor from Mars”, he would have noticed the difference in tone too. And I didn’t pick that up from his comments either, I had noticed it myself from day one. It saturated the proceedings.

Sure, all conventions are silly political theater, propaganda, they are formulaic, stylized, scripted and predictable; deliberate and unrepentant attempts to further a point of view and an agenda. They are high school pep rallys for grown-ups. But there was certainly a profound and distinct contrast in the psychological and emotional subtext between the Dem and Rep extravaganzas this year.

No, I’m not going to spell if out for you. If you didn’t pick up on it, it would just be a waste of both our times for me to try.
