Teething problems--any suggestions? May 9, 2024 4:33 pm ER

My new computer has a minor, but annoying problem. I am using Chrome. When I open a website, occasionally (this is an intermittent problem, occurring about 5% of the time), the screen locks up. I cannot scroll up or down, I can’t use the L or R mouse button or the scroll wheel, and I cannot roll the page up or down, left or right.. No matter what I click on nothing happens, Fortunately, there is a quick work-around. All I have to do is hit the left arrow at the top of the window and go back one level, then I hit the right arrow and go back to the bad page and my mouse works just fine.

If I get out of the Net altogether, then go back in, it works just fine. I hate to call Gupta at Microsoft and have him take control and fix it, because every time I do that to get a problem fixed I wind up with a new one. I got this issue soon after I called customer service the last time. I checked the options in my mouse options pull-down menu but nothing seemed to help. I used google to see if other people had the same problem, but got no satisfaction there either.

Its no big deal, but if someone knows a quick fix, I’ll try it.
