I think backgammon is a much better game, because of the element of chance introduced by the dice. I used to be pretty good at chess, but I was never any good at backgammon.

A perfect game would be like life itself, where the players have access to information about the field, but some things are hidden from some or all the players. Analyzing a situation and devising an appropriate response is all well and good, but in the real world, there is always the element of chaos and randomness–and of asymmetry.
