A new scam April 15, 2012 5:50 pm podrock

Paraphrased.

The phone rings…

Me: “Hello…”

Them, in a rather thick, barely understandable Nigerian (?) accent: “Is Mrs. P home?”

Me: “Yes, but may I ask who this is and what this about?”

Them, as best I can make out: “I’m (garbled) from (un-understandable) and her computer is sending out spam.”

Me: “How do you know this?”

Them, again, barely understandable: “Her windows has virus that needs correction.”

Me: “What is the name of your comapny?”

Them: “lkaldlhfkhl????”

Me: “Could you give me phone number for your company so I can call you back?”

Them, quite clearly: “No.”

Me: “This sounds like a phishing trip to me. Good day to you, sir.”

And I hung up.

Beware.
