A little more on the Kel-Tec PF-9 September 23, 2013 11:12 pm bowser

http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/pf-9/pistol/

This pistol is just fine for my current purposes, and overall is a real POS.  Nothing to be proud of, it ranks just above warts.  It will NOT chamber either hollow-point or frangible ammunition, those rounds getting stuck and requiring partial dis-assembly and then pushing out with a stick down the barrel.  I haven’t taken it out to the farm or into the mountains to see how well it handles standard ammunition.

It has a horribly hard pull to chamber a FMJ round, and no safety.  What is considered to be a safety is a very long trigger pull which wouldn’t occur accidently.  Poor excuse.  There is a very small, hard release which would chamber the first round of the second clip.  In the interest of small, light and narrow it is a little more difficult to operate than one would want when in a situation where they are on their second clip.    There is no hammer.

On the plus side it is 9mm, thin, small, light and semi-auto.   It disappears into a pocket, even with the laser sight on it.  It has an under-barrel rail for that sight.

I’m anxious to see how well the laser works.  What a sweet deal!  It is easy to adjust to the open sights on the pistol, and if it is at all accurate it solves a lot of problems when dealing with a moving, mad animal.  There seems to be a great deal of security in knowing you could hit your target even on the move, while excited and without aiming.
