I posted an exact copy of my Ben Carson facial hair post (see below) in another bulletin board I frequent (a sailing board).

There were several responses, mostly humorous or whimsical, certainly not controversial or combative in any way, until the moderator intervened:

“This topic has been locked, to prevent the Camels nose of politics from allowing the political camel into our tent.”

That kind of vigilance may be a bit too extreme for the Zone, but its something to keep in mind when innocuous threads are constantly hijacked by partisan propagandists.
