I don’t see it as racist. If they don’t feel comfortable around whites then I agree with the assessment that it’s a reasonable request. It’s a double standard that is acceptable.

If that’s from personal experience then it’s sad. But I think a lot of it is media driven and the focus of academia.
As an aside, I wonder how a student can be admitted to college with horrible grammar.
