Persepolis Rising: Book Report December 10, 2017 10:10 am hank

Just finished it. With the possible exception of the first book in the Expanse series, this is the one I liked the best. Highly recommended, although it would be best not to discuss it–too much of a possibility of spoilers.

Be it enough to say that if you’re starting to get tired of this series, this installment will bring you back in.

For those of you who may have missed my comments about the TV show, I’m very pleased with what they’ve done with it. I’ve watched two seasons (we binge when the DVD is released) and I actually find it superior to the books. The people who have dramatized the novels know what they are doing; The SF is well constructed and the performances, the writing, the staging are all first-rate. Both the art and the technical sides are outstanding. I’m particularly impressed by Wes Chatham (Amos Burton), Thomas Jane (Joe Miller) and Dominique Tipper (Naomi Nagata), although I can’t think of anyone in the cast who isn’t earning his salt. Even some of the secondary roles. such as Jared Harris, (Anderson Dawes) are spectacularly pulled off.

I can’t wait for season three to come out on disc.
