Majority rules November 1, 2019 6:12 pm Robert

People make a lot out of the unlikelihood of a supermajority in the Senate voting to convict Trump. That’d be not only all the Democrats, but 20 Rupublicans as well.

But consider: It’s very likely that a simple majority will vote to convict Trump and remove him from office.

Trump will become not only the third President in our history to be impeached, but the second (Johnson, I believe, missed conviction by one vote) to be convicted in fact by the Senate but skating by on a technicality.

Trump will have to run against that in 2020. It’ll be a bloodbath.

That’s your pollyanna-ish thought for the day. You’re welcome.
