Let us take a moment to marvel at the absurdity of it all... January 5, 2020 5:28 pm RL

Under the Bush administration Republicans dragged us into war with Iraq. They lied and claimed Iraq was involved in the 9-11 attacks. Those that questioned their lies were accused by the Republicans of sympathizing with the terrorists and not supporting our troops.

Under the Obama administration, any attempt to end the endless war with Iraq was met with opposition by Republicans. Attempts to negotiate or withdraw troops was called weakness, and appeasement of terrorists.

Then Trump ran on a platform that stated the Iraq war was a stupid mistake, that Bush was a fool for starting the war, and we should bring our troops home- Republicans suddenly flipped and fawned all over Trump- suddenly their position was ‘no more endless wars!’.

Trump is now starting a war with Iran, and threatening to commit war crimes against Iran, and Republicans are enthusiastically supporting his reckless actions that have horrified our allies.
Iran has a much larger military force than Iraq, and this time- thanks to Trump’s actions- we will have no allies.

One would think Republicans would be experiencing ethical whiplash- but that would assume they had ethics to begin with…
