I've lost track...where are we in this play? January 18, 2021 9:40 pm podrock

A Review:

What is it, season 4, episode 12, 5th act? I can’t keep up. Every episode’s “Previously On” segment is getting longer and more confusing, impossible to encapsulate the story arc without extensive Cliff Notes. And the characters! I thought Game of Thrones, The Silmarillion, or any Pynchon novel went overboard with hundreds of wacky characters. Damn. Some are simply unbelievable. Like the guy with the horns. Really? Who is writing this shit? Someone in the writer’s room says “I know, let’s have a half-naked, tattooed, animal-skin wearing, horn sporting, spear-sporting, insane person howl in the halls of Congress?” And the other writers, hiding their smirks behind their covid masks, say, “yeah, sure, why not, we had the former mayor with hair dye as flop sweat, so what the hell.”

This season has had everything. Fires, Hurricanes, a damn plague. Qanon. What was the show runner thinking? How can they squeeze all this in? It’s worse than “Lost.” I can’t follow this plot. And still go all Shakespearian and have have blood on the marble floors of the seat of government! Are we missing any tropes? The army crossing the Rubicon? Wait. Got that too.

I don’t know why I decided to binge this series. Suppose I had no choice.

Hoping the sequel doesn’t suck.
