I just got a letter from Barack Obama requesting a campaign contribution. I’ve never done this before, but I decided, after consulting with Mme Reclus, to send him a check.
There was a comment card included in the envelope, I filled it out as follows:
Donating the modest amount I can afford is a pointless gesture, like pissing in the ocean. But I believe in what you are doing, and I believe you believe. I guess I feel, like I owe it, to someone.
