Wondering how close I can get to this. September 15, 2012 11:41 pm bowser

I don’t know if this can be done.

For the new little RV, I’d like to purchase a small computer, not a tablet, which could support two 1080 displays, a larger one, say 32″ and a smaller one, say 24″ or 26″.  Hopefully it could do so wirelessly, but I think Intel has a wireless feature for only one display.  If it couldn’t support two displays, it would have to accept a card which would.

It’s a challenge to figure out how to do what one wants to do in such a small space.  It’s coming together, I’ve figured out how to limit the space I have to heat or cool, I’ve figured out how to double my propane capacity and extend the fuel capacity of the generator to 72 consecutive hours (both readily available commercial products), and carry all of that on my cargo carrier.  I have both the propane furnace and 12V and 110V heaters for my planned Canada trip.  12V can come from the battery which would be charged by a new 200A alternator, and 110VAC can come from the inverter charged by the battery or the generator, which also charges the battery.

The issues now besides the computer and displays are the rotating TV antenna and the rotating mast with the wifi yagi, both of which need to fold down.  Winegard makes the TV antenna as well as a signal level display, but won’t tell me if they’ll sell the mast separately.  Which is a way of saying they won’t.  I could put a wifi yagi on the Winegard mast, but then wouldn’t be able to have wifi and TV at the same time.

Fitting all this into a limited space is a challenge, sort of like ultra-light backpacking.  I look for hi-tech solutions, some are low tech and simple – such as simply leaning the TV against something which would give far more versatility than a double swivel folding mounting bracket.

One thing I won’t do is subscribe to any cell phone data plans.  They are expensive and those companies irritate me anyway.

Bedtime.  Thanks, all.
