Well…all things considered, things could be worse. IMHO, scientific illiteracy is a particularly troublesome form of ignorance. Not that study of the humanities fails to sharpen the mind, I’m confident that it does–but the growth of STEM education is a huge benefit to humanity (again, just my opinion).

Besides, there will always be those who are drawn to the humanities…and the rest will still need electives…
