The defeat of the fascists in the last election was only the first battle in the war… it is a war FAR from over. Nor is victory assured- in fact, in my opinion, it is highly probable fascism of the harshest kind is probably going to triumph – I just hope it can be held off during my lifetime.

We no longer have a 2 party system, we have one party trying to govern, and another party in a delusion fog of conspiracy theories actively working openly to tear down our democracy. One party trying to keep our constitutional government functioning, and the other actively trying to replace it with fascism.

The republicans will continue to game the system in order to wreck it so they can achieve minority rule- gerrymandering, voter suppression, undermining the faith in the electoral process- and they may very well succeed if we let them… and if they fail, they will then turn to violence… as we have already seen.

There will be many more attempts by the fascists to impose their anti-democracy vision on America- and they only need to get lucky once.

The coming years will be a constant struggle against that evil…

I hope a better America emerges on the other side.
